Mount Washington Alpine Resort is the embodiment of Canada's spectacular West Coast. Moss-laden Hemlock and Yellow Cedar tower over an extensive network of DH mountain bike trails that range from fast and flowy to steep and technical. Add a jaw-dropping view that span the Island's rugged mountains to the blue waters of the Pacific and you have a destination that riding dreams are made of!
Summer 2010 marks the completion of the resort's signature expert freeride trail, Back in Black. In short, Back in Black is described as the perfect blend of dirt and wood! If you're into perfectly sculpted dirt jumps, big drops, and even bigger wall rides with more flow than the kitchen tap then look no further. Back in Black will soon make it to your top ten trails list.
Mount Washington put some mountain-sized focus into trail improvement for 2010. Timewarp, Wizard, Big Brother and MMT- all located on the Hawk Chair side of the Bike Park- have received truckloads of dirt, flow enhancement, additional wall rides and burly wooden stunts. Every Bike Park needs a little TLC and that's just what Mount Washington's Bike Park received in advance of Summer 2010!
In past years, Mount Washington played host to world-class events like the Bearclaw Invitational Slopestyle and Canadian National and Provincial DH and XC Championships. The resort is also the chosen venue for many grass-roots events like the Lucky Thursdays DH Race Series and local Jump Jams. This summer Mount Washington welcomes Rocky Mountain riders to Roots, Rocky, Reggae on July 24-25 and hosts Darcy Turenne's See Jane Jump Women's Mountain Bike Festival on August 21-22.
