Kicking Horse Mountain Resort (www.kickinghorseresort.com) offers some of the longest lift-accessed descents in North America, you can choose from a myriad of trails that range from beginner to expert. Take a gondola to the top of the mountain in just 18 minutes, then ride 3,700 feet of vertical.

Families can build confidence on manicured trails with big soft berms. Experts can test their mettle on black diamond trails that are steep and fast with slick rock, drops and log rides.

If cross-country riding is more your speed, there is an excellent selection of trails near the base area. Downhill mountain bike rentals and equipment are available at Canyon Creek Outfitters located at the resort base.
